Well, I don't know what’s in store for me in this consulting business.
There was some issues in the network at work, restricting access to a few training material, and was unable to train briefly. The batch was really happy about it; they were having a half hour break from schedule. I took time off and browsed through online-literature.com.
I came across this poem
"There will be time To wonder,
Do I dare? and, Do I dare?
Time to turn back and descend the stair,
With a bald spot in the middle of my hair . . .
Do I dare?
~T.S. Eliot
About T.S Eliot...
T.S. Eliot, obviosuly an English poet was famous for his poem "The Waste Land"
Anyone who studied history might have heard a little about him before. For those who hated history, his poem "The Waste Land" was really famous and it embodied the sentiment of the early 1900s when Europe lost all their spirit after the world war 1.
Europe was so devastated by the war, that he viewed the future as a "Waste Land."
I don’t know, I can’t just deny reading about wars, and poems, songs and works related to them. The after math, the pain, A lot of my friends might not agree, but that’s how I got in to listening Iron Maiden.
As always I think I’m digressing from the topic???
Anyways just some background information about the poet and my likings… Like I mentioned in the beginning of this post, the point is I have dared to venture… coz I didn’t want to regret with a baldhead, I should have ventured it.
And I hope its all for good,(It better be...)
Another interesting thing happened in my class, more of an argument. There was a student who said, "Academics defines what you are!!!" when I asked her "Do you believe so?” because I’m firmly against it, as you all know…
Well... she said, “Yes sir, that’s what has given you and me this prestigious job!”
I just smiled back...
What else could I say… when she believes her life is defined because she has joined Sutherland!!!
Great going girl… You have justified and made you Masters Degree in Computer Application Proud!
She didn’t talk to me after that, she thought I was arrogant, what can I say, she just misunderstood me…
And on a very arrogant note…
"To Be Great Is To Be Misunderstood… How So True…"

Jay this is good start and it would get better. The hard work that u put in will not go unnoticed and of course the prayers. Everything would be alright, jus' the way u planned!!! :-)
Thanks dear :)
Jai its nice tat u commented and ur way of fascinating happenings is excellent and to be admired.
May i know who is that MCA girl who said tat academics is important.
jay good! keep going, dont ever think of those.we know u are the best.of course u too know i believe that u believe in urself.then its bad on u jay.u dint even mention about us.u have mentioned about ur new batch.thats not fair.hope to see something interesting about batch too.it mean to say something interesting
Hi Jay, let's not belittle the importance of academics...it does play a part in defining who you are at least in the material world. Otherwise when you have children in future, you wouldn't send them to school, right?!
Academics + the place you work, the clothes you wear, the books you read, the languages you speak etc. and most importantly the relationships that you have, all play a part in defining who you are...
However, your real identity is that you are a child of God. I mean 'what profits a man if he gains the whole world and loses his very soul?' - Luke 9:25
We don't know where that girl is coming from...maybe she has seen worse places before...anyways, she has a right to feel Sutherland is a good company...right?
Suprising to see the low opinion on Sutherland actually...considering it's the company where you worked for the longest period of time! :)
I hope u r reading scripture also for inspiration...I mean T.S. Eliot can't be as good as God...HIS book is still No. 1 on the all time best seller list!!
I'm sure God willing, u will do well in your new venture...however, trust in HIM and desire to do HIS WILL, that's the best way to avoid regret - bald spots or no bald spots!
Cheers & God bless...

Hi Gangai,
Thanks for the Comment!!!
Never Wrote Academics is of no use!!! The lines were, Academics don't define what you are, Like you said "Academics + the place you work, the clothes you wear, the books you read, the languages you speak etc. and most importantly the relationships that you have, all play a part in defining who you are..." Defines you! Exactly that's my point too.
The next one, about sutherland, never degraded Sutherland, and keeping in mind I still Consult for them, Just that it is a little dis heartening to see a MCA gurl joining a Entry level job, doing nights…. the things that go along in a call center!
I wanted to let her know, "You should have waited for a break, than just compromising"
"Great going girl… You have justified and made you Masters Degree in Computer Application Proud!" – The exact lines. Should have been read with a sad tone!
I could substantiate the sad tone…
There is a lot of money here working in call center, but with the experiences I gained, I could say, you never know how long… and you are never sure whats in store for you soon… and also, money doesn't come with ease, I did make my money, served long here, doing nights, and shifting shift schedules like crazy… and now losing all money going to Docs, checking or BP levels (keep in mind I hit 168), and spending sleepless nights even after quitting the job!
I'm not against sutherlend, Just against the whole concept of night shifts… It takes your life …
Of course His Book is #1.no arguing on that J, and God willing… It's all fine!
What ever Ranting I do, and how much ever depression I go through, I still am cheerful and happy… May be I've realized "Buried under the biggest burden is a good place to find an even bigger blessing"
ok ok, point taken buddy!
It's just that the MCA comment sounded a little sarcastic not sad!
As for night shifts, u r very very right! But what choice is there for young people wanting to make
fast money? What choice did u have when u took up your 1st night shift job?
It's unfortunate, what to do!
Ofcourse if u value quality of life, it's better to stay away from night jobs, I agree...
Day jobs may not pay as well, that's the only reason for so many people flocking towards call centers
without thinking about the later consequences
Hi Jay,
At first I didn't know what to say, but after the latest comments, I thought I would add to it...
I agree that the comment about the girl came across as sarcastic and not sad. Besides, you don't know how working for Sutherland fits into her goals/plans for her life. Just because you had a bad experience there doesn't, you can't project that onto everyone else. I know personally that I hate working here too, but I do believe that it keeps me here in India and that I have a purpose here (even if I don't know what that is yet!)
if u like readin abt wars and aftermaths, read Exodus bu Leon Uris. ull enjoy it.
